Spring Session 2024  April 8 - May 20
Creativity abounds in this fun, exploratory class for your little ones. Caregivers and children create together using a variety of mediums such as paint, crayons, markers, and papercrafts in a safe and nurturing environment. Share the joy and excitement of art with a child, and bring home new creations each week to be treasured for a lifetime.

Am I required to sit in on my student's class or is it optional?

This age group ranges from youth who have been in a school setting to those who have not. Therefore, we provide the option for caregivers to stay both onsite and within the room for ages 3-5. Students do not need to be accompanied, but can if the family chooses, families may wait outside in the waiting area once their child is comfortable. Instructors will work to meet the goals set in place by each family on an individual basis.

It’s time to play with your food! With clean hands, in hygienic space, young food artists mix, measure, imagine, and transform average snacks into objects, animals, vehicles and more! Participants create adorable snack food art to take home each class. Come for a day and create seasonal and holiday themed snacks food art.

April 6 - May 13 Instructor: Elyse Cote 
A fun and exciting class where students will learn how to build and sculpt with various kinds of clay.  Projects will range from hand-building and decorating small pots, cups or dishes to sculpting fantasy creatures.  They will create things like unicorns, dragons, pegasi, griffins, angels, fairies, gnomes, and trolls.  Each week a different project is introduced and completed.

portfolio sketchbook.jpgPortfolio Preparation for High School/College Applicants Ages 14-17, 4-6pm

The portfolio development course is open to high school students who may be interested in pursuing studio art at the college or career level.  This course can also help students enrolled in an AP Studio class at the high school level, and who wish to sharpen their skills in drawing, painting, or 2-D design.  Instruction will be personalized to students’ needs and interests and may include topics on observational drawing, portraiture, painting techniques, and mixed media.  Students will develop ideas for portfolio concentrations, and create work that emphasizes concept, craft, and personal expression.  Students will also learn to document their work for a digital portfolio for college and scholarship submissions. Members: $160, Non-Members: $175, Trial $25  REGISTER HERE or call us at 860-276-1581 to register

Do you have a hands-on learner? One who loves to work with tools and master the art of throwing clay? Then sign them up to learn how to throw on the wheel with clay from one of our best instructors. Open the door to our clay studio for students to create their own clay bowls, pots, and altered free forms. Learn the fundamentals of art while working with a different medium each week. Acrylics, watercolors, pencil, colored pencils, markers, pen & ink, collage, printmaking, clay, and recyclable materials in 3-D sculpture are some examples that will offer a great opportunity to work with your favorite mediums and also experiment with new, unfamiliar ones!
