Wheel Throwing Pottery and hand-building for Beginners - Adults ages 18 & up
You’ve waited long enough. It’s time to do the thing you’ve always wanted to try—pottery! This introductory, 7-week course in wheel throwing pottery is the perfect place to start. And our instructors are top-notch! In this beginners course, you will explore:
- Hand building with clay
- How to use a slab roller
- Centering and pulling clay on the potter’s wheel
- Forming cylinders and bowls on the wheel and
- Glazing your finished works

And now that you’ve learned to center clay, pull a cylinder, and throw a bowl in the beginner class—it’s time to take your clay working skills to the next level. Justin is a true master of his craft and will show you how to:
- Refine your handles
- Learn to make lidded jars and teapots
- Learn decorating techniques using slips and glazes

Youth Hand Building with Clay Ages 8-14 yrs, 4-5:30 pm

Do you have a hands-on learner? One who loves to manipulate things with their fingers and build? Then sign them up to learn how to build with clay from one of our best instructors. Robert will open the door to our clay studio for students to create their own clay sculptures, pinch pots, dishes, candleholders, and soap dishes. They will also learn how to decorate, glaze, and fire their artwork in our kiln in a safe environment, in a seven-week course of study.
