Teen Pottery (Ages 12-17)
Wednesday afternoon 3:30-5:30pm
This introductory course in wheel throwing pottery is the perfect place to start and our instructors are top-notch! In this beginners course, you will explore:

Adult Beginner Wheel Throwing Class - for the enthusiast.
Monday 9 am - 12 noon, Monday 6 pm- 9 pm, Tuesday 3 pm-6pm, Wednesday 6-9 pm & Saturday 12noon - 3pm
SoCCA's Beginner Wheel throwing explores centering and pulling clay on the potter's wheel making cylinders and bowls. The instructor will demonstrate handbuilding, the use of the slab roller, and guide glazing and finishing your work. Sessions run for three hours a week for seven weeks.

Adult Beginner/ Intermediate Handbuilding Class - for the enthusiast.
Friday 10 am - 1 pm
SoCCA's Handbuidling class also participants to explore and expand their knowledge of handbuilding with a variety of techniques, tips, and tricks to create treasures both large and small. The instructor will demonstrate the use of the slab roller and guide you with glazing and finishing your pieces. Sessions run for three hours a week for seven weeks.

Adult Intermediate Wheel Throwing Class - for the experienced.
Thursday evening, 6-9:00pm.
If you can center clay, pull a cylinder, and throw a bowl, but you were looking to advance your skills - this is a class for you. Refine your handles, learn how to make lidded jars, and teapots, and explore decorating techniques with slips and glazes. No matter how long you have been potting, there’s always room for improvement.

Adult Open Studio- for the intermediate to advanced Ceramic Artist.

Must be able to work independently. Take advantage of our 2000 square-foot studio handbuilding or wheel throwing. SoCCA's cone six studio has three electric kilns, 12 wheels, (one with adjustable height and wheelchair accessibility), 30 inch Northstar slab roller with hand building area and a wide pallet of custom glazes. Particpants can choose from one or two three 3-hour blocks a week for seven weeks. Studio closed for major Holidays.
