January 9 - February 20 Release your inner artist and create beautiful watercolor still-life and landscape paintings. Mo Myra is an absolute gem of an instructor and teaches beginners foundational basics, “wet on wet” and “dry brush” techniques. Ongoing This unique class gives veterans their own unique space to explore artistic interests in three different mediums—drawing, painting & collage. Susan will guide beginners and intermediates as they complete drawing exercises in both graphite and charcoal; learn how to create compositions and paint with acrylics; and finally, complete a mixed media collage from start to finish. January 10 - February 21 This introductory course provides opportunities to learn digital design and photo manipulation using the Adobe Photoshop platform. Participants will learn to use Photoshop tools and functions to create original works of art in a digital format. Instruction will include importing images from smartphones to enhance, creating high resolution images for printing, and using layers to add text or combine images. January 11 - February 22 Sessions are for beginner artists as well as those looking to get back to basics having all levels of experience. Participants will gain a firm foundation to begin creating their own drawings from objects. Work from the still life and learn how to observe an object so it can be transferred to the paper, focusing on basics; composition, structure, and proportion. March 1 - April 12 Students will experiment and discover the flexibility of this intriguing medium, creating varied effects with oil pastels. Drawing from imagination or still life, students will create artwork on paper by layering and blending color. The use of palette knives will be demonstrated for different effects. January 13 - February 24 Discover endless possibilities and inspiration with James as he takes you on an artistic journey. Students explore printmaking methods with a variety of papers and printmaking techniques. You will learn traditional block-printing, monotype, and mono-printing techniques from demonstrations. Creating your own stunning prints is the first step to producing a series of prints. Then participants will use sketching exercises and multi-layered printing to develop mixed media collage works. All in a supportive environment. Because some sessions involve cutting linoleum and rubber with gouges and knives, special care and attention to the proper use of tools are required.
