SoCCA Reindeer Games Holiday Parade 2021 Fundraiser
Be one of 25 donors to exhibit a personalized painted Reindeer Sculpture for the 2021 Holiday Season.
Apply to be matched with a sponsor to design a 5ft reindeer to be displayed along the Linear Trail in Southington.
Reindeer must be complete by Monday, November 1, 2021 or dropped off in October during SoCCA's business hours, Tue-Fri, 12noon-5pm & Sat. 12noon-3pm.
SoCCA/Gift Gallery Artist Submission
SoCCA invites area fine Artists and Craftsmen and women to submit information and images for consideration to the Gift Gallery and Exhibit Gallery programs. Individuals aiming to be considered and selected as consignors should fill out the form including uploading images of the artwork and items to be consigned. Merchandise is to be presented and received by scheduled and confirmed appointments only. All items received and removed are at the discretion of the organization. SoCCA strives to make the arts available to everyone. For those who cannot afford our classes and who really need the creative healing of the arts we have a scholarship fund to fulfill those needs. SoCCA also offers Art classes free for our local veterans in painting, drawing and collage in appreciation for their service to our county. Please feel free to inquire about these funds if you have a need or know someone who does.
Annual Artisan Showcase - Apple Harvest Festival 2021
SoCCA introduces an indoor Fine Arts and Crafts event to be held Saturday and Sunday October 2 & 3, 2021, during Apple Harvest Festival. The team at SoCCA is currently in the process of curating this showcase and seeks artists with high quality handcrafted works/products willing to self-represent and showcases their works at the event. Deadline to submit slides for participation, September 1, 2021
SoCCA Seeks Art Instructors for Youth and Adult Programming
Southington Community Cultural Arts Center offers classes to youth, adults and to people with disabilities in drawing, painting, printing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, writing, music, jewelry and film making. SoCCA seeks to expand its education programming to introduce new instructors with a long history of experience in arts education at all levels offering innovative approaches to informing students of classical and contemporary techniques within all art medium.
Proposals should include a title to workshop and a workshop description. Those seeking instructing a series of classes over a seven week timeframe should include a syllabus and timeline of topics demonstrated and a description of those techniques participants will experience. A full paragraph description of what will be presented in sessions, and references to facilities organizations and individuals you have worked with in the past should also be included. A brief biography of work history and electronic images to support marketing efforts in listing the sessions in our catalog are also required.
