Why the Dragonfly?
The dragonfly holds deep meaning for SoCCA and our story.
To honor this special milestone—and the woman, Mary DeCroce, who made SoCCA possible—we chose a symbol that reflects both her journey and the spirit of our community.
Our founder courageously battled cancer for 27 years, meeting each challenge with strength, grace, and unwavering determination. She connected deeply to the dragonfly, whose life cycle is one of struggle and transformation before emerging as the beautiful creature it was meant to be.
For Mary, the dragonfly symbolized perseverance, courage, and hope—qualities that continue to inspire SoCCA and the many individuals we serve every day.
This project is not only a celebration of 10 years — it is a tribute, a transformation, and a reminder of what is possible through creativity and community.
Be Part of our Story
We are completely grateful for those that Sponsored a dragonfly by supporting an artist and make a lasting impact in our community.
Thanks for helping us carry the arts—and our story—forward.
Shoutout to Todd Mongillo of Mongillo Carpentry for creating our incredible dragonflies for SoCCA’s 10-year fundraiser!
Your time, talent, and generosity made this project possible—and we truly couldn’t have done it without you. Because of you, we’re able to bring this meaningful community art experience to life.
Thank you for helping creativity take flight.
